How to apply for a UAE work visa

1

Get a job offer

Your employer submits a work permit application to the Ministry of Human Resources. This takes 5–10 working days.

2

Entry permit issued

Once the work permit is approved, an entry permit is issued. You can enter the UAE on this permit.

3

Medical fitness test

Visit a government-approved health centre for a medical fitness test (blood test + chest X-ray). Results in 1–3 days.

4

Emirates ID registration

Register for your Emirates ID at an EIDA (Federal Authority for Identity) centre. Required for all residents.

5

Visa stamping

Your passport is stamped with the UAE residency visa. Process takes 3–7 working days after medical clearance.

6

Emirates ID delivery

Your Emirates ID card is delivered to your address or collected from an EIDA centre. Usually 5–10 working days.
